Welcome to PDFsphere. By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Description of Service

PDFsphere provides a comprehensive suite of free online tools for working with PDF files. The services include, but are not limited to, converting files to and from PDF formats (e.g., PDF to JPG, Word to PDF, Excel to PDF), merging, splitting, compressing, rotating, protecting, and watermarking PDF files (the "Tools").

2. File Processing and Privacy

PDFsphere uses different file-processing methods depending on the specific tool you choose to use:

• Browser-Based Processing: Certain tools (such as PDF to JPG, Merge PDF, Split PDF, Compress PDF) process files directly within your web browser using client-side technologies. When a tool operates entirely in your browser, your files are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
• Adobe PDF Services API: Advanced document-conversion tools (such as Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PowerPoint to PDF, and PDF to Office formats) utilize the secure Adobe PDF Services API. When you use these specific tools:
  • Your uploaded file is transmitted securely to our backend server and then forwarded to Adobe's services for processing.
  • Our application is designed to read the uploaded file into volatile memory (RAM) and return the generated result without intentionally saving the input or output documents as permanent files on our physical disk drives.
  • Third-Party Retention: Adobe may temporarily retain uploaded and generated assets within its services according to its applicable documentation and retention practices, primarily to execute the conversion job.
  • Temporary handling or spooling by our web server framework or hosting infrastructure may still occur automatically for large files before they are purged.
• Other Server-Side Processing: Other tools (such as Protect PDF or Unlock PDF) may use PDFsphere's own secure server applications. These files are also processed temporarily and are discarded after the operation is complete.

Important: We aim to minimize unnecessary file retention and handle submitted files responsibly. However, please do not upload highly confidential, classified, or legally sensitive documents unless you are fully comfortable with the applicable processing method and third-party file-handling practices.

3. Acceptance of Terms

By using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. Your continued use of the Service constitutes your acceptance of these Terms, which may be updated periodically. It is your responsibility to review these Terms for any changes.

4. User Conduct and Responsibilities

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You are solely responsible for the content of the files you process through our Tools. You agree not to use the Service to:

• Process any files that infringe on the intellectual property rights, including copyright, trademark, or patent, of any third party.
• Process any material that is unlawful, defamatory, libelous, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
• Introduce any viruses, malware, or other malicious code.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Site's software.
• Engage in any activity that could damage, disable, or impair the Service.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content (excluding user-provided content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of PDFsphere and its licensors. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Our trademarks may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. PDFsphere makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the operation of the Service or the information, content, or materials included therein. You expressly agree that your use of the Service is at your sole risk.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that the results of using the Tools will be accurate or reliable. While our Word to PDF and Excel to PDF converters are designed to maintain formatting, we do not guarantee perfect fidelity for complex documents.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall PDFsphere, its affiliates, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not owned or controlled by PDFsphere, which may include our advertising partners. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party websites or services.

9. Google AdSense

To support our free service, we may display advertisements from Google AdSense. By using our Service, you agree to comply with the Google AdSense Program Policies. You agree not to click on your own ads or use any means to inflate impressions and/or clicks artificially.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDFsphere operates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
